Wellington, FL- Rick Silvia of Dream Street Stallions has been at his favorite pastime yet again, promoting the sport of dressage.  Last November, Rick performed a dazzling Grand Prix freestyle for spectators at the Florida Equine Celebration in Jacksonville Florida.  Rick was invited back to the Jacksonville area to perform another Grand Prix musical freestyle exhibition this past month. This time, Rick and Mr. Magic were the opening entertainment for the North Florida Hunter Jumper Association’s $25,000 Grubb & Ellis Grand Prix Jumper competition.  Mr. Magic is an 11-year-old Grand Prix stallion, sired by Kyra Kyrklund’s Master 850.  The pair performed a Grand Prix musical freestyle maneuvering gracefully around the jumps set up for the evening’s jumper classes. Susan Rindal, who handles marketing for the NFHJA said of Silvia’s performance, “I was in tears - I don’t think this crowd gets to see anything like this ever and they were very much in awe”.

Earlier the same day, Silvia rode his Elite Hanoverian stallion, Lullaby and participated as a demonstration horse in Scott Hassler’s Young Horse Symposium hosted in conjunction with the American Hanoverian Society Convention. “It was a bit of whirlwind getting the horses to two events on the same day”, admitted Silvia. “ But it was a great opportunity to get Scott’s coaching and his ideas for Lullaby’s continued training, said Silvia, who has big plans for the stallion in 2007.

Silvia is a well-known competitor on the Southeast dressage circuit. Silvia runs Dream Street Stallions and owns six dressage horses, including three stallions of international quality. “I believe it is important the we promote our sport to the main stream. We need to show people that dressage is be fun and rewarding”, says Silvia
